Winter in Moosehead is one of my favorite times of the year. We stayed at the Beaver Cove Camps in February of 2012 on President’s Day Weekend. These camps are located in Beaver Cove just south of Lily Bay State Park. These were affordable cabins with bunks and lake views and are no longer in business, but still have a web cam of the lake so you can check out their sunrise shots of Winter in Moosehead.
Dresden and I were invited to join my parents and camping parents for a few days and we were thrilled to join. We had great weather and were able to walk out to Treasure Island, do some ice fishing and otherwise play in the snow.
Dresden was just about 3 1/2 when we went on this trip. It was great to introduce him to camping in bunks as he was finally at the age where these kind of adventures were easier to execute and was the first of many getaways with this crew and what better experience than camping during the winter in Moosehead!
We felt lucky to have found this gem years ago and we look forward to making many more memories in Moosehead Lake !
