Beginner’s Guide to Camping in Lily Bay State Park

Campsites in the Moosehead Lake Area

Certainly one of our most beautiful state parks, Lily Bay State Park is located on the northeast shore of Moosehead Lake.  Offering excellent views of Moose Mountain, paddling to Sugar Island and easy access to Kokadjo and nearby hiking, this is a prime location for enjoying all that the Moosehead Lake region has to offer.

Willow and her family spends time here on a few occasions including Columbus Day weekend  and July 4th weekend. Lily Bay State Park is a great place to take the kids camping! We’ve had girls camping weekends here, as well!  To get reservations for 4th of July you need to have your act together.  Grab a friend and plan your itinerary in advance for best results.

According to Maine.gov – (click the link to read more!)

“Located along the east shore of beautiful Moosehead Lake just 9 miles north of Greenville, the 925-acre park offers year-round activities and camping. Amenities include a swim beach, playground, two trailerable boat ramps with boat slips, and a two-mile shoreline walking trail.

Park Hours: Open all year; 9:00 a.m. to sunset daily unless otherwise signed at the gate.

The park is accessible in all seasons and offers stunning views from the beach and cross country skiing trails in the winter. Facilities are not open during the winter and you will need to park outside the gate and walk in.
