Beginner’s Guide to Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park

Jordan Pond – Places to see on the Park Loop Road

You could spend a whole day just exploring from the Jordan Pond House. You can tackle the Pond Loop – there’s even a further loop you can take if you are so inclined. We recommend the Bubble Loop if you have half a day. If you’ve only got a few hours, we recommend parking at the Jordan Pond House, taking a walk around the pond to see the Bubbles, and then having lunch at the Jordan Pond House.

Getting There

Take the Park Loop road! If you’re planning to spend the whole day here, take the shorter drive into the park, passing the Cadillac Mountain access point and keep on going. If you’re just stopping by, head towards Sand Beach on the Park Loop road, and stop here at the end of your trip.

Parking is in this general area. It has once of the largest parking areas in the park, and it’s still in high demand.

What to See

If you take the path to the left, you’ll reach the Carriage Roads, and how we recommend starting the Jordan Pond Loop.

If you take the path to the right, you’ll reach a great view of the Bubbles, and it’s our recommendation to head this way if you’re limited on time. Once you hit the stone footbridge, you can turn around and head back.

I took my 70 year old father on the loop hike and he really enjoyed it. This space has something for everyone, except those who like motor boats. No engines allowed on the water 🙂
