Bangor Maine has become quite a destination for breweries over the past few years! we have no shortage of great beer and awesome taprooms. If you’re visiting Bangor, Maine, and you are a craft beer junkie, here’s your guide map! Literally. I put all of these locations on a map for you. Go here!

Bangor Beer Co.

This eclectic tap room features an outdoor patio (dogs are welcome), many games and things to do and always plays the best tunes. There are usually 6 or 7 of their own beers on tap and they also have a rotating tap list and delicious pub food. Including Totchos. TOTCHOS. Bonus – they deliver growlers!! If you’re staying in a hotel in Bangor, you’re in radius. Call 207-947-6969 and place your order. Bonus – they are in the same building as Oriental Jade, which has some of the best food in town IMO -so you can get awesome food delivered with your growlers as well. Read more here!

Black Bear Brewing Company

Black Bear Brewing has been a staple of the Bangor area for years and just recently opened a spot in Bangor. Nice atmosphere with live music on the weekends. We can’t wait to spend more time here in the months to come!

Geaghan’s Brewing Co.

The tap room has outdoor seating and an occasional food truck in the evenings! Inside, there are great views of the brewery as well as snacks and wine. You might also find live music happening. Geaghan’s is a staple in the Bangor region. If you haven’t visited their flagship restaurant and had pub cheese on everything, you haven’t lived.

Nocturnem Draft Haus

Ok, so this is not a brewery, but they do showcase many of the fine local beers that Bangor has to offer, so you should absolutely stop here if you want a nice sampling. It’s also a great place to go if you are with friends that don’t like beer –  a great wine selection and a full bar. Music on weekends. Orono Brewing Company

OBC is a small tap room with big flavor. This is a great stop on your walk around Downtown Bangor, or to meet a friend for a drink to catch up! OBC also has a tap room in Orono, where they brew and are expanding their brewing facility

Penobscot Bay Brewing

Penobscot Bay Brewery shares a space with Winterport Winery – they are partner brands! You can stop into the taproom and try a sampling of beer and wine, and then stop by the Wooden Spoon for some baked goods and a snack! The gift shop here has all kinds of great things. Sea Dog is the old faithful. They have awesome outdoor seating and Blueberry beer that you just HAVE to try. A great place to sit outside on the water, and try a Blueberry beer, or my personal fave the Sunfish (grapefruit!) and a Maine Lobster! A definite stop if it’s your first time in Maine.
