Penobscot Mountain is one of our favortie hikes in Acadia National Park. It is a great hike in the winter. In fact, it’s a great hike in all seasons. We like to partner Penobscot Mountain with Sargent Mountain for a longer hike!
How to get to Penobscot Mountain
You’ll need to park at the Jordan Pond House or the Jordan Pond Parking area to access the Penobscot Mountain trailhead. During the winter, you’ll need to get to Jordan Pond Road in Southwest Harbor to access the Jordan Pond House parking area!

Distance: Approx. 2.9 miles
Elevation: Approx. 974 feet
Kids: Experienced, during winter
Dogs: It’s icy and cold!
